Our book covers the early days of footbag, but it also covers the really early days, as a pasttime among indigenous peoples that goes back hundreds of years. However, the scope is limited primarily to those years between 1972 and 2000, from when Mike Marshall and John Stalberger first toyed with the concept of the Hacky Sack® through the formation of Team Hacky Sack® under the leadership of Scott "Mag" Hughes, and then onto the Footbag Hall of Fame. The key founders and kickers are honored in the beginning, with some of the most successful being highlighted throughout the book.

The Sport of Footbag takes readers from the spontaneous kicking circles that sprang up in city parks all the way to the organized tournaments and, eventually, world championships. It talks technical differences between freestyle and the net game, its rules of play, and the early tricks that evolved from practice and experimentation.

It's nice to have the hard copy to flip through, but if you'd like to receive a digital copy of our book for free, just enter your email and we'll be happy to send it to you! I'm passionate about spreading information about and enthusiasm for the sport, so if you know others who would be interested, send them our way!
